Welcome to Savvy Owl Soap Shoppe! We are a rapidly growing company located in Sebring Florida. My husband and I are soap makers and we love making soap for our customers. The best part of making soap is that you don't need a lot of high-tech equipment. 
When we started out we had 3 soap molds that my husband made, a mixer, table, microwave, bowls, gloves, spatulas and spoons. It took us 8 hours to make 3 batches which included setting up and cleaning up. Now we can make 9-10 batches including set up & clean up in about 4 hours 
depending on the soap we are making. Since then, my husband has made 15 wooden loaf molds, and we have purchased a large selection of specialty molds. Last year my husband built a soap studio (which we have now outgrown) that better suited our needs. Geoff keeps our equipment running smoothly, and we have streamlined everything we can. In the past few months we have been making 18 to 27 batches of soap every week. That will slow down a little now that fall is here and our season has started.

We purchase in bulk as much as possible to keep the cost of manufacturing low. We also purchase from reputable suppliers seeking the best supplies to be used in our products. For now we will be making soap to keep our inventory stocked with some new soaps; and products as needed to keep up with demand. We have set up all the necessary safety equipment, and have protocols in place in the event of an emergency. We have established a written protocol for sanitizing our work space to keep everything very sterile as we work. We are adhering to Good Manufacturing practices; and continue to improve on our standard operating procedures; as well as modifying them as we grow. There is a lot to know, and we are learning all the time. Thankfully, we participate in events, and belong to companies that make us aware of changes in the industry that may affect us. We stay up to date on current news as well.
